Ms. Gaynell “Mae Liza” Farmer was born on October 5, 1938, in Burke County, Georgia
to the late Mozelle Jordan Farmer and the late Jimmy (Adeline) Lovett, Sr. At an early
age, she was baptized and became a member of the Antioch Rock Creek Baptist
Church where she attended faithfully until her health failed.
As the matriarch of the Farmer family, Mae Liza took pride in making sure her children
were taken care of. She worked as a housekeeper for several years. She often
prepared meals that could feed an army, provided a home remedy to help relieve any
ache or pain, and imparted wisdom to help you navigate through life.
Mae Liza enjoyed spending time with her family watching Family Feud, Law and Order:
SVU, and listening to Lee Williams and the Spiritual QCs. We will miss the great sense
of humor, affectionate smile, and humble spirit of Mae Liza, who transitioned from this
life on March 25, 2026.
Mae Liza was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was
preceded in death by her sons, Billy Farmer and Richard Farmer, sister, Ocie Brown,
