Addie McCoy Obituary

Sis. Addie Bell McCoy was born on October 15, 1955, to the late Bro. Jessie McCoy, Sr., and Sis. Mary Liza McCoy in Girard, Georgia. She was the second eldest of nine children, four of whom preceded her in death: Marty Ray (1968), Jessie, Jr. (1983), Joseph (1998), and Jacob (2003). Also preceding her in death: her daughter, Patty Renee Rahney (2004), and granddaughter, Baby Chesi M. Bedford (2000). She received her education in the Screven County School System. At an early age, she confessed Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and joined St. Mary’s Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board. Sis. McCoy moved to Augusta, Georgia, where she sought public work. While residing in Richmond County, she became a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board and taught Sunday School. She later became a member of Thankful Missionary Baptist Church by Christian experience, where she continued to be a servant of the Most-High. Sis. Addie, affectionately known to many as “Patty,” will be most remembered for her loving spirit and kind heart. On the afternoon of September 24, 2021, Sis.
